Medical Errors With No HarmMedical errors with no harm Medical errors nowadays are very common in all fields of medicines. But the fact is that there is errors made medical errors without doing much harm to the patient are being practiced efficiently. An incident from metropolitan city is quoted as an example. A mother who had a 6-year-old daughter was very worried that she was suffering from severe stomachache. After trying all the home medications she took her kid to the hospital. The doctor who attended the kid diagnosed it as urinary infection and gave her certain prescribed medication. The mother took all the medicines prescribed by the doctor from the pharmacy of the hospital and went home. After reaching home she gave her kid the medicines. Only after giving the medicines she realized that the medicines, which she gave to, her daughter was not for urinary infection but something else.
The pharmacy people have interchanged the medicines. Though her daughter was not affected by the medicines she took, it was still unhealthy to for a six-year-old kid to be exposed to such an error. The pharmacy finally apologized for its mistake. Medical errors with not much of harm is what actually said by the physicians but as the number of drugs supplied to the hospitals increase the errors due to change of medications also increases. The reports suggest that over 770,000 people are dying due to these adverse drug events. The wrong medications might not be doing much harm to the aged ones but children are highly exposed to a risk of incorrect dosages.
